What is Ruth's Kitchen?

Ruth’s Kitchen is a food pantry operated by Discovery Christian Community, offering free food to anyone in need. Open twice a week, Ruth’s Kitchen exists as a reflection of Jesus’ love and compassion, seeking to help meet the physical needs of our community. We believe that every person is valued and worthy of dignity, regardless of their circumstances. No registration or requirements—just come as you are and receive a variety of fresh and non-perishable food items at no cost.

When Is Ruth's Kitchen Open?

Ruth’s Kitchen is open every Tuesday at 12:30 PM and Thursday at 6:30 PM. The distribution process typically takes between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of guests. Everyone is welcome to wait indoors in a warm and welcoming space while food is distributed.

Where is Ruth's Kitchen Located?

Ruth’s Kitchen operates out of Discovery Christian Community, located at 5929 S 900 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84121. Since the main doors remain locked during the week, we invite all guests to enter through the north-facing side entrance when they arrive. If you need assistance finding your way, just look for our friendly volunteers—we’re happy to help!
