We believe that technical excellence and creativity are simply a means to loving God and serving our church family. I have loved music and making weird noises since I was a kid. I'm from the PNW and love a good hike and a pretentious cup of coffee. My wife Annika and I live in Bothell. Come see me in the booth sometime!

I have the incredible honor of leading Reach Kids. I get to work with a wonderful team of volunteers who help kids learn about Jesus and have tons of fun every week! Along with a deep desire for kids to understand that God knows them, loves them, and offers them life through Jesus, I’m also passionate about training leaders and equipping parents for discipleship. I married my best friend, Roy, in 2011 and started nannying that year as well,

Hey! I'm Ranen, and I am the Live Media Production Lead here at Reach Church. I love any and all things tech-related, and I am honored to get to work on the Reach team creating slides, directing the livestream, and making Sundays go smoothly. I have been attending Reach since I was 7 years old in 2014, and have loved it every step of the way. I have a passion for music and love playing guitar and listening to music. I am also an avid sneakerhead, and will never miss an opportunity to nerd out on kicks with someone! 👟

Hello! My name is Dan. I’m primarily from Hyderabad, India, though much of my life has been spent elsewhere, including our not-so-recent move to Seattle from Boston. Areas of ministry close to my heart are appreciating the picture of God’s grand story in Scripture, spiritual formation, and engaging with world religions+cultures. I’m married to a champion-mom Kristen, with whom I get to adore our three girls, Adelene (2), Sahana (0.5) & Selah (0.5). Big fan of music, nature, badminton, tennis, and Biryani! I’d love the chance to get to know you over a meal (either try your food or introduce you to mine!)

Dennis Tanner

If there’s one constant at Discovery, it’s Dennis. As the vice-chairman and one of our founding members, he has been part of the church since the very beginning. Dennis is the steady rock of our community, always ready to serve. You’ll often see him first thing on Sunday morning, greeting everyone with a warm welcome in the lobby. He and his wife, Sherri, have a deep love for this church family, and his heart for hospitality helps make Discovery feel like home. If you haven’t met Dennis yet, just step through the doors—he’ll be the first to say hello!

Kathie Manning

Treasurer

Kathie brings both precision and passion to Discovery. She and her husband, Ron, have been longtime partners in our church, and while her heart belongs to the slopes, she keeps our books balanced with the same care and skill. As our financial manager, she ensures that our budget stays on track so that ministry can thrive. After spending time in Alaska, she takes even the harshest Utah winters in stride—probably because she’d rather be skiing anyway! If you ever need a financial report or a good powder-day recommendation, Kathie’s the one to ask.

Tom Yang

Youth Ministry

Tom is our Youth Pastor, but let’s be honest—he’s also the biggest kid in the room. He and his wife, Mai, lead Discovery’s youth with energy, passion, and plenty of fun. Whether he’s teaching Bible lessons, organizing game-filled youth nights, or leading the charge in an all-out NERF battle, Tom makes sure that students feel valued, engaged, and encouraged in their faith. His heart for the next generation is evident in everything he does, and he’s always up for a good conversation (or a rematch). If you're looking for him, just follow the laughter—or the flying foam darts!

Gabriel Leung

Member-at-Large

Gabriel and his wife, Bethany, have been part of the Discovery family for several years and are deeply invested in helping people connect and belong. Together, they host a weekly Connection Group in their home and help lead Discovery’s Community Group ministry. Gabe also leads the “Goodie Gang,” coordinating the treats and refreshments that help make Sunday mornings a little sweeter. By day, he’s a scientist at the University of Utah, where he gets paid to shoot lasers at things (yes, really). Whether he’s opening his home, serving behind the scenes, or advancing science, Gabe brings thoughtfulness, hospitality, and a servant’s heart to everything he does.

Robin Smith

Secretary

Robin Smith brings both heart and humor to Discovery. She serves as the Director of People & Culture for the YWCA Utah and has been part of the Discovery family for several years. Robin has a deep compassion for people, especially the elderly and those facing difficult circumstances, and she is always looking for ways to encourage and support others. As a member of our board, she helps keep us organized, grounded, and laughing along the way. Robin also loves drama and theater, so she appreciates a good story and a little flair. If you’re looking for her on a Sunday morning, she’s easy to spot—just look for the person wearing red! ❤️

Jared Huntsiger

Chairman

Jared is the lead pastor of Discovery Christian, passionate about helping people navigate faith in a changing world. He loves Hebrew, post-Christian culture, and connecting ancient wisdom to modern life. He and his wife, Lisa, a cardiac sonographer, have one son, Jacob, who attends Intermountain Christian School.

Outside the church, Jared enjoys motorcycles, woodworking, good coffee, and finely crafted IPAs. Whether preaching or building something in the shop, he’s always looking for what lasts.
